Police Arrest Suspect in Bob Lee Killing
Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of Bob Lee, another tech exec by the name of Nima Momeni.
According to Mission Local, Momeni — owner of Expand IT — and Lee evidently shared a ride in a vehicle registered to the suspect. At some point, it appears a disagreement broke out between the two individuals, with Momeni allegedly stabbing Lee.
The scenario appears to jive with the unusual circumstances of the stabbing, which police believed was neither a robbery nor a random act of violence. This scenario also explains why Lee was on foot at 2:30 AM on a section of Main Street that had very little foot traffic.
Other than whatever disagreement the two had, there has been no additional information regarding a possible motive.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins criticized the effort by some to portray Lee’s death as indicative of a rising crime wave in the city, according to NBC News.
“I must point out that reckless and irresponsible statements, like those contained in Mr. Musk’s tweet that assumed incorrect circumstances of Mr. Lee’s death, serve to mislead the world in its perception of San Francisco,” Jenkins said.
