Microsoft Advertising Drops Twitter Support
Microsoft Advertising has announced it will no longer support Twitter in its Smart Campaigns with Multi-platform.
Microsoft Advertising provides a way for users to manage their various social media platforms in a single place, making it an excellent way to track campaigns and engagement.
Unfortunately, Twitter is ending support for its free API, charging businesses subscription plans that start at $42,000 per month for their Enterprise package. While there are cheaper options available, they have severe limitations on the number of monthly requests, making them ill-suited for Microsoft’s purpose.
Many have slammed Twitter’s decision and pricing as absurd, and it appears that Microsoft agrees. The company says it will no longer support Twitter as an option, effective April 25.
Starting on April 25, 2023, Smart Campaigns with Multi-platform will no longer support Twitter.
As of April 25, 2023, you’ll be unable to:
- Access your Twitter account through our social management tool
- Create and manage drafts or Tweets
- View past Tweets and engagement
- Schedule Tweets
Other social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn will continue to be available.
